CBD Sports Recovery.

In recent times unless you have been residing under a rock, you have most likely heard of cannabidiol, or as its more commonly known CBD. In today’s world CBD is beginning to pop up everywhere and can be found in many different forms such as; Oil tinctures, gummies, capsules, topical products, bathing products, cold drinks, coffee & tea just to name a few.

What exactly is CBD & how can it be linked to sports recovery?

Let’s go back to the beginning briefly to recap on exactly what CBD is.

CBD is a phytocannabinoid that was first discovered back in the mid 1900’s. CBD is only 1 of at least 113 identified cannabinoids within a cannabis plant and it makes up a huge 40% of the plant's extract. Unlike the cannabinoid Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which gets the user ‘High” CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid which does not cause any negative effects and has been known to have many health benefits such as, reducing inflammation, improving sleep, reducing stress levels & enhanced blood flow just to name a few.

CBD works within your endocannabinoid system
to balance elements with the body and maintain what is known as ‘homeostasis balance’ which is what our body uses to maintain a balance with every day daily functionality. Is CBD legal in the United Kingdom?

The answer is Yes, CBD is sold legally within the UK as a food supplement. The World Health Organisation stipulates that CBD oil is non-toxic, non-addictive and non-psychoactive.

Law in the UK states that the product has to meet certain criteria to be lawfully available for human consumption. CBD oil must not contain more than 0.2% THC to be legally sold in the UK.

There are many CBD products on the market today that are not compliant with regulations, when purchasing CBD always ensure you can access an up-to-date Certificate of Analysis (CoA) from the supplier for the product in question before completing the sale.

At CBD Uplift, our promise to our community is that we will only ever supply the highest CBD products available. It is our mission to help each and every member of our community to live a happier and healthier lifestyle through CBD. To ensure quality and consistency of each batch of products that we produce, we have samples sent to a 3rd party laboratory for independent tests. We include these reports with every order & you can also access our most up to date reports any time via our online store. Check it out here.  https://www.cbduplift.co.uk/pages/lab-reports

How is CBD linked to Sports Recovery?

Without a doubt, one of the most exciting new supplements in the sports and fitness world at the moment is CBD. The hemp-derived compound has been hailed by many as a wonder remedy for both pre-conditioning preparation & post exercise recovery

Research suggests that CBD shows promise in helping reliving pain and reduce inflammation, which could be useful for athletes participating in intense exercise.

As an athlete you apply greater stress to your body throughout your training sessions and competitions, which can lead to injuries, pain and inflammation greater than what your endocannabinoid system can cope with. Adding CBD to your regime as a food supplement may get the overloaded ECS back under control and help the body maintain homeostasis.

CBD is extremely popular for people in the fitness industry. In fact, athletes are one of the core groups that support CBD, with many well-known faces openly talking about how they use the supplement.

Is it legal to take CBD within all sporting organisations?

According to the world anti doping agency, CBD is not a banned substance. This means that it is deemed completely safe for athletes to use cannabidiol based products throughout their competitions. It is worth noting however, some CBD products will contain up to 0.2% THC & some products contain Zero THC. It would be advised to run it by your sporting organization for authorisation prior to introducing any new food supplement into your daily regime.
